Describing a picture in English (Speaking exam)

Now, we are going to learn how we can describe a photo in English.

First, DON’T BE SCARED!

Think about the vocabulary you know about what you can see in the photo.

You can introduce it with:
                        This photo shows…
                        It’s a black-and-white/coloured photo.

After that, you can describe the photo with the following prepositional phrases:

In the foreground/background, you can see...
In the foreground/background, there is....
In the middle/centre, there are
At the top/at the botton, there is...
On the left/right there are
Behing/In front of... you can see...
Between... there is....

Third, you can describe people in the picture or you can say what is happening in the photograph. You can use present continuous. REMEMBER: subject+verb to be+verb(ing). In order to describe people, REMEMBER: verb to have got, verb to wear, and all the vocabulary you have learnt during our lessons.

Finally,  you can explain what you think about the photo. For instance, you can use:

I think....
I like/don't like this photo because...

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN!!! BE CREATIVE!!!!
